The latest brand loyalty rivalry at Willow Creek is over the two water bottle giants: Stanley V. Owala
Stanley's have a better handle, but they've also been known to leak and spill.
Owala's are lighter to carry in a backpack and have a better spout, but maybe they don't keep your drinks as cold as other water bottles.
Regardless, we're happy to see our kids staying hydrated and having fun with their choice of beverage vessel!

"Ms. Bork, along with her 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Spanish Immersion students, honored Veterans Day on November 11, by recognizing the bravery, dedication, and selfless service of the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces, who defend the freedoms we hold dear."
What an incredible job with the artwork honoring our Veterans!

Here are more pics from that STEAM Summit.

The 8th grade students at Willow Creek were at the STEAM Summit. This event offered a hands-on experience with various career paths, especially in science, technology, and healthcare. Kids had the opportunity to interact with professionals and explore the tools of the trade, such as operating an ultrasound machine or learning how an MRI scanner works. This gave them a tangible sense of what these careers entail, beyond just reading about them. With a diverse range of organizations—from healthcare leaders like Mayo Clinic to local law enforcement and universities—students gained a broad perspective on the many career opportunities available to them.

Spanish Immersion students and Newcomers have been researching and working on a project for our Dia de los Muertos unit, exploring how the celebration has evolved not only in Mexico but also around the world. They’ve put in a lot of effort over the past few weeks and dedicated themselves wholeheartedly to this project. Enjoy the photos!

“The community’s approval of the Ignite Student Learning Referendum will enable Rochester Public Schools (RPS) to avoid closing schools, raising class sizes, and making major cuts to positions and programs that serve our students. It will provide RPS with the financial stability we need to continue implementing our ambitious strategic plan and to remain focused on our academic mission. Most importantly, it is an investment in our students that will pay off in the skilled workforce that Rochester needs to thrive in the decades ahead. We look forward to providing regular updates to the community on how the referendum funds are being used, and we will work hard to continue earning and strengthening the trust that the community has placed in us through its approval of the referendum on November 5, 2024.”

Tomorrow is Election Day! Today is the last day for early voting. You can vote today from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 2122 Campus Drive SE, Suite 300, Rochester, MN, or 201 4th St. SE in Rochester, (Conference Room 104), Rochester, MN.
Don't forget to vote on the Ignite Student Learning referendum to increase the operating levy and allow RPS to continue helping every student reach their full potential.

"Prior to Advanced Learning classes, my kids didn't enjoy school and were bored. Now, they are both thriving and have found their place. They love the faster pace and challenge to think differently and explore topics a bit further than the traditional classroom," Connie said.
